In the middle of April1, every year an amazing natural show happens in Sceaux park (5 km south of Paris - France): it’s the cherry blossom. There are two differents varieties of cherry trees in the park but the most beautiful it’s undoubtly the grove of Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’ which has double pink flowers. This variety is commonly grown in Europe and northern America.
A lot of people come to enjoy the hanami (花見, literally “flower viewing” in Japanese) during the few weekends that the flowers last so it’s better to come early in the morning to fully appreciate it.
Sceaux park which has been designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century like, among others, Versailles or Tuileries gardens, is not only beautiful because of the cherry trees, but I will show you more about it in another post.
The grand Canal in Sceaux park is 1140 m long.
Unfortunately we couldn’t see it last year due to the sanitary situation, the photos were taken in 2019.
